Matching Grant Award!
Living Hope was eligible for a very generous matching grant, and had until the end of the year to raise $85,000 in order to receive an additional $85,000. With an amazing show of support, we met our goal!
This Money Will Be Used Two Ways
#1 Gualaco Elementary School
The community has asked us to help refurbish and remodel their local school, serving area children from grades 1-6. The changes will make the building a safer place, and one more conducive to learning.
The principal is a great friend to Living Hope and has asked for help with the following:
- update the electrical and general construction
- replace old desks
- install an indoor toilet
- add a classroom
#2 Education Center at the Children's Home
Plans are underway to make use of the space allocated for a third girls home as a pilot for building an education center. The center will be used by the girls in the home and provide meeting space for tutors and community leaders until the time is right for the 3rd girls home.
Money will be allocated for:
- finishing the walls and floors
- completing the bathroom
- new desks and bookshelves
- purchasing 2-4 computers
- purchasing a printer
There aren't enough stars in the sky to reflect how thankful we are in behalf of those we serve. To each and every supporter, thank you more than we can say.
